Anna A. Bilida
PhD candidate

Anna A. Bilida is a biologist specializing in environmental toxicity and aquatic ecology, focusing on the physiological and ecological responses of aquatic organisms to environmental stressors.

She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology (2021) and a Master of Science in Applied Ecology (2023) from the University of Patras, Greece.

Her research experience includes microalgal culture, photosynthetic performance analysis using PAM fluorometry, chlorophyll concentration measurement through photometry, and toxicity testing following OECD guidelines.

She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the Department of Sustainable Agriculture, University of Patras, under the supervision of Associate Professor Maria Antonopoulou.

Her doctoral research, conducted within the SusiAquaTech project framework, focuses on advanced technologies for water treatment and reuse in aquaculture systems, specifically employing Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOPs) for aquaculture wastewater treatment. The study aims to remove organic pollutants and pathogenic microorganisms while ensuring environmental safety through integrated chemical and (eco)toxicological evaluations.

Her scientific work has been published in high impact journals and presented in national and international conferences. In addition to her research, she has actively participated in science communication and public engagement initiatives.
